Nostalgic Nouns-The Purpose
This body of worked came about in my discovery of my “Why”
Creating my work puts me inside a moment to experience laughter, sadness, confusion, heartbreak, fear and personal vulnerability. Laughter to reminisce on all the photos taken of me with food, from the days of my youth. The feeling of sadness, from so many people that have been influential that are no longer here to seize the paramount moments that have transpired in my life. Confusion of how fast life can shift and we miss cherished moments. Heartbreak of experiences that I've been through that were difficult for me at times, eventually were the ones that produced life-long results of perseverance.
Fear is a factor that can consume anyone at any time. Experiencing fear was a part of my growth, and how I gained strength as I walked through the fear on my journey to success. Personal vulnerability was a growing process because of being vulnerable to criticism. After realizing that the criticism was the catalyst to all of my growth, courage, and struggles that have created me into the artist I am today. Life is a fragile, beautiful thing. Through my art I am able to incorporate childlike joy and nostalgic memories through the many people, places and things that have encompassed my life.

Memories are a virtue. This body of work is a collection of humbling opportunities to learn new things and revisit the childlike joy of nostalgic memories. These people, places and things have transformed my trajectory artistically.

There’s something deeply humbling and rewarding about the moments when your effort, regardless of external recognition, culminates in a tangible outcome like an art exhibition. It's as if all those times when it wasn't fun or when you weren't "in the mood" were building up to this significant moment of manifestation.- Chauncy B.Williams Sr.
To God be the Glory.
"Having the opportunity to host an art exhibition is a blessing in itself, and I am profoundly grateful for it. Yet, more than the opportunity, I am thankful that I was ready to embrace it when it came.
This experience has reinforced something I’ve come to believe deeply: if you remain consistent in your efforts, opportunities will find you. The journey requires commitment—working when no one is watching, pushing through when inspiration is absent, and staying dedicated even when the process isn’t enjoyable.
Every challenge along the way, every moment of self-doubt, and every late night spent refining your craft—it all becomes worth it in the long run. Keep creating, keep striving, and trust the process."
